Architecture for Humanity

I have to put a plug in for this great organization --AFH gathers designers and volunteers to respond to needs all over the world and "design like they give a damn." Most recently, they are doing relief work in India and Sri Lanka and are now organizing recovery efforts for the Gulf Coast.

Travis and I are speaking to representatives now and are very excited about the prospect of collaboration with such a prestigious group. More on this as things progress, but the website is certainly worth a look:

Butterflies

As I sat on the tube this morning, I started to get that wonderful butterflies-in-the-stomach feeling one gets on Christmas morning. I couldn't stop smiling while I thought of all the wonderful things that are to come!

The support has been pouring in and I am once again touched by an overwhelming and heartfelt response. We move closer to our fundraising goal everyday --I don't know I can express my gratitude.

People have been so eager to help, offer advice, and direct us to resources. It gives me so much joy and hope to see what 'ordinary' people can accomplish --and with so much less than I ever imagined (less money, less experience, etc).

I've got a good feeling about this one...
