More Interaction with the Natives

We've been asking our friends where they're hiding all the elephants. All the postcards have pretty painted elephants walking through the towns, but word on the street is that they all live in the jungles of Kerala --a whole 13 hours away! Good thing they keep one at a temple in Pondy.

We were shopping at a street market when we looked up and saw her standing right there between the stalls --wearing the biggest bling I've ever seen. I droppped a 1 Rupee coin right into her trunk and she blessed my head. How's that for getting to know the locals?

From Grandpa's Carolyn:
Am enjoying reading about your adventure! Hope all your blogs, pictures are being saved for future remembrances. Your Grandpa and Uncle Fred still enjoy their "log" of their camping trip in Wyoming in high school? (They didn't see any elephants.)

It is fun to see all the photos, but I really like this one because we have one of your faces in this one! And what a great expression!

The pictures really are great and gives us the feeling that we are (almost) there with you. What about rain, have you had any problems with that. I love the idea of the pictures of the women and the stickers for the kids!
Keep up the good work!

Hey guys, sorry I haven't checked in sooner. My thoughts are with you both. Keep up the hard work. I really admire your drive.
Love the elephant pic. I'm sure your pictures of the Tamil women are beautiful.
Take care!
